Pattern match and masking out a region of a template

Hell All,

I am working with pattern match vi looking for black rubber patches of various size and shape on a sheet with some white prints on it. Each sheet could have up to 50 parts. For most part I am able to successfully locate the parts. But when the white prints on the black patches are off a little bit the coordinates for the patch location is also offset. My question is can I mask off an area of the template and request the pattern match algorithm to ignore that area for the pattern matching purposes. I have been told that some other vision tools sold bt competition has this feature.

Any example vi with picture files will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi K_seeker,

Unfortunately it is not currently possible to mask a particular part of an image when performing a pattern match. I believe that you may have spoken with Jesse earlier today and he has mentioned that there should be an application specific solution for you in this instance. I would continue contact with him and we can work out a solution!

Take care,

Robert

K_seeker,

Are you using Geometric Matching? Geometric matching allows you to specify template masks.
