Problem after VBAI 3.0.1 install

Hi all,

I'm replacing a machine previously configured with VBAI 2.6.1, and at the same time upgrading to VBAI 3.0.1. Install all seemed to go OK, but now every time I start VBAI 3.0.1 or 2.6.1 a dialog indicates configuration of LabWindows/CVI 8.1. This prompts 3 times to restart the machine before finally starting VBAI.

Can anyone tell me what has gone wrong with the install? Should I start again? Is this a bug with VBAI 3.0.1 install? Should I redo install and stop at VBAI 2.6.1? This is very frustrating as I'm trying to get the installation configured while the system is available over the Christmas break.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Hi again,

Problem fixed by download and install of the latest version 8.6.1 of NI-DAQmx.

Also took opportunity to install VBAI 3.5.0.

All versions of VBAI now start OK.

Comments on VBAI 3.x for anyone who is interested:

Despite obvious excellent technical improvements since VBAI 2.6.1 some user aspects of VBAI 3.x don't impress.

As I have several inspections for operators to select between, the earlier 'Open inspection' dialog was excellent.

The new dialog is more generic, but not as simple or informative from a users perspective.

Also, I get the impression VBAI 3.x needs to keep all inspections in a single folder if navigation is to be avoided.

The separate folders of VBAI 2.6.1 combined with the simple 'Open inspection' dialog was much better.
