Problems with executable IMAQ/Vision Program with LV & Vision 6.1

We have recently obtained LabVIEW 6.1 and the Vision Development Module.

When a standalone application is developed with the application builder, even when the vision deployment engine is used to install the Vision runtime, the program does not run correctly with an "Error 21" in relation to the "IMAQ Rotate" VI.

Having read some of the archived posts, it seemed likely that this was due to the development and target machines having different versions of the IMAQ driver. This was the case (2.5.4 and 2.5.0, respectively).

When I tried installing IMAQ 2.5.4 from the vision development module CD the problem was solved and the program runs correctly.

My question is: can we distribute IMAQ 2.5.4 with our
application and if not, what is the correct way to ensure that our application runs correctly on machines without a full version of Vision installed? The most recent version of IMAQ available for download appears to be 2.5.3.

Thanks,

Adam Johansen

NI-IMAQ 2.5.3 should work fine. You only need 2.5.4 if you are deploying to an RT target, since this is the first revision with RT support.

Thanks for your suggestion.

I've just tried downloading IMAQ 2.5.1 and the upgrade from that to version 2.5.3. Having installed it on the target machine I still get an "error 21" when I attempt to run my application.

I believe I read somewhere that it's necessary to have the same version of IMAQ on both the development and target machine - in which case, would there be any reason why I couldn't install version 2.5.3 on that system as well?

Thanks again,

Adam
