Ring pattern in images aquired with VDS 1300D - NI PCI 1422 and IMAQ in 2x2 binning mode

I am using a VDS-Vosskuhler-CCD-1300D camera in combination with a NI PCI 1422 grabber card to do acquisitions within Labview 8.2 and the IMAQ controls.  If I set the camera into the 2x2 binning mode (with the IMAQ Set Camera Attribute vi) the images are displaying a disturbing ring pattern artifact.

The camera is also used from another program written in C that uses NI IMAQ routines defined in niimaq.h directly from the dlls and there the artifact is not present. Both programs are using the same camera.icd file selected in MAX. When the grabs are performed from within MAX, the artifacts are also present. 

Can some body think of settings/attribute that I should set to solve this problem in my Labview program?

If the camera output is 12-bits, then there is a discussion of a similar problem here:

The C program be correcting this problem.
