Sample Program - IMAQ 1411 - cannot detect recognizable video source

Hi I am using an IMAQ 1411 and I get the "cannot detect recognizable video source" error when I try to run any aquisition sample program which came with the IMAQ 1411. However if I use Measurement Automation Explorer I do not get this error and can see the video perfectly fine. Where do I look to remedy this problem?

I have Analogue and S-Video cables attached.

Thanks in advance.

Sonic,

Can you please describe your issue in more detail? If Measurement and Automation Explorer can acquire an image without error, then you should be able to run the shipping examples (both the LabVIEW and text-based examples) without error.

Are you having trouble with a specific example? What frame grabber do you have? Does it work in Measurement and Automation Explorer?

Hi Michelle,

we have a test system with two 1411 card  for two  unit parallel  testing,

Now the test system can work , but sometimes there is a error  as below,

Error -1074397153 occurred at an unidentified location Possible reason(s):

NI-IMAQ:  Cannot detect recognizable video source.

Each unit have BNC and S_Vidieo output port, so we need connect BNC cable and S_Vidieo cable to 1411 card and  need switch section  name  and aquire image repeated. Detail MAX config and procedure in attached file .

Can you go into more detail about how you are switching between BNC and S-Video? There is a KnowledgeBase that describes how to do this:

Can I Connect Two Cameras to PCI-1411 and Decide Which to Use Programmatically?

Are you following this method?

And, can you narrow it down to one card, or does this error come up for both cards? Can you also narrow down which interface is giving you the error? BNC or S-Video, as you can only use one at a time.

I have problem in one application (VI), getting the same error as mention above.

The camera works in MAX, the camera works the second time I start the VI in LV.

First time after restating the computer when I start the VI the first time the error occures. By just accept the error and stop the VI and start it again it dose works OK.

This is enoying and I want to get it work the first time the VI is started...

Hi Torbjorn,

Were you able to look through the troubleshooting tips here?

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/3434173630CBC97686256F8000536593?OpenDocument

Specifically, are you giving the computer enough time to start up all of its services?  Or are you running the VI immediately?

Cheers,
