Save imaq 1394 image

Is there a "clean" way to save an image acquired with IMAQ 1394? Right now, after "IMAQ1394 Snap" I'm using "IMAQ ImageToArray" - "Flatten Pixmap" - "Write JPEG File". Is there a better way to do this? Also, what if I want to write to a TIFF file instead of JPEG or BMP?

Thanks!

The Vision toolkit provides a simpler method of saving images. You can save directly from the acquired image to the file using a single vi. Several formats are supported.

If you don't have the Vision toolkit, you are doing it the easiest way possible. I wouldn't buy the toolkit just to save images to a file, but it has a lot of other useful stuff. If you are doing any image processing, it would probably be worth the investment.

Thanks, Bruce!

When you say "Vision toolkit" are you referring to "777411-03 IMAQ Vision for LabVIEW"?

Thanks!

Hi DMB,

since a long time I am trying to do what you are already doing.

Could you send me the skript to save a file from an Firewire-Camera?? I would really appreciate that.

I have the IMAQ 1394, but couldn t find a way to write the skript in a right way.

Are you using ActiveX or .NET?

Thanks.
