Simulating a camera in MAX

In MAX I have the possibility to simulate DAQmx-Devices, Modular Instruments and Motion Devices. But I don't have the possibility to simulate a camera. In my specific case I need 4 Firewire cameras which I haven't physically here.

A simulated camera would just generate the same image loaded from a file.

Is there any need by others for this?

Is there any chance to get this implemented?

Hello Waldemar,

thank you for posting at the National Instruments forum at telling us about your idea. Actually, there is no way to simulate a camera in Measurement & Automation Explorer, as you already found out.

A good way to send your good idea to our development team is using the "Product Suggestion Center". You find it here:

Waldermar,

But a simulated camera will again give you the image stored by you right? Can you tell me how do think will it be helpful?

Re: Simulating a camera in MAX

At a certain time the hardware will be delivered to our customer and I have not the chance to test anything here.

My customer will be able to make a image and send it to me and I can test and modify the application using this image.
