Hi Carsten,
well it seems that there is some problem with your S/N or your activation code.
I would like to check that with the database and need therefore your S/N.
Please post your E-Mail Adresss so I can contact you (because you should not post your S/N on the internet
). You will receive an official email from me (email sender domain is NI.com).
Greetings Martin

Hi Martin,
thanks for your support offer. To keep time short, I just contacted the german technical support; they told me (and that was also my suggestion) that the runtime is not necessary to be activated (because together with a SmartCamera only VBAI is used) and therefore may not be activated. The runtime is only needed if e.g. a firewire camera or similar is used without VBAI to run inspections.

Hello Carsten,
please download the zip file and follow the instruction.
It would be greate if you could send me a short feedback after the test.
Kind regards,
Elmar

Hi Elmar,
very interesting behaviour: Works perfectly in the inspection interface of VBAI (creates a logfile as described), but still doesn't work in the configuration interface...
I didn't test my inspections with the inspection interface before, but I assume they would work in the same way like yours.

Hello Carsten,
the configuration interface is for config and test the vision algorithm.
But if you complete the program you always switch to the inspection interface.
You will find more infos here:

Or in the vision cours: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/de/nid/2290
Kind regards,
Elmar

Hi Elmar,
I'm absolutely aware of what you explain, but IMHO that does not explain why no log file is created while working within the configuration interface...
By the way: I finally don't use the inspection interface but control the camera via ActiveX. I also pick up the inspection results and the captured image via ActiveX and display them in my own user interface.
Greetings,
Carsten
