VBAI GigE change attributes on the fly

I tried your inspection, which I assumed was setting the UserOutputAll numeric, and it took about 88ms. I was just using two IMAQdx steps where one set a Digital IO to true (LineStatus) and the other set it to False. This took about 12ms. When I changed my example to update UserOutputAll it took about 90ms. So it doesn't look like there's a good way currently to set that attribute without taking a big hit in performance. We will investigate ways to fix this in future releases.

Can you tell me when the update for VBAI is ready. Basler should have finished their XML-file by now.

Since we are actually going to install this system in a factory and not just use it for a scientific purpose , we have deadlines to follow  and we want the system to be as smoth as possible.

Installing additional I/O-boards in the computers, with cablelength for these I/Os of up to 50 meters is not a smooth system.

We plan to have the next version of Vision Builder AI have a workaround by using a Run LabVIEW step to set a user specified attribute. This will take on the order of 10ms since we won't need to acquire an image or stop/start the acquisition. This is a short term solution and we hope to have a more integrated solution in future releases. I cannot provide more details on timeframes right now.

Now that Vision Builder AI 3.6 is out the door, here's a VI you can use with it to change IMAQdx attributes on the fly without stopping/starting the acquisition and waiting for an image to bhe acquired. Let me know how it works for you or if you have any questions. I made sample values default to illustrate the type of inputs to supply.

The vi is broken. There are missing som sub vi's.

The VI is probably looking for the Resources Global in the IMAQdx step of VBAI. If you open the VI with LabVIEW, and make sure it find the global variable in ..\Vision Builder AI 3.6/plugins/08 IVB IMAQdx.llb/IVB IMAQdx - Resource Global.vi.  This will only be valid for VBAI 3.6, so you'll have to wait until you have VBAI 3.6 installed.

Is there any way to reset the camera automatically. Powerloss on the cameraside locks up the communication.
