Vision license versus engine and Debug Licensing

I have a question regarding licensing...
If an application is made into an executable it will run with the standard labview runtime and one or both of the following:
778044-01 IMAQ Vision Deployment Engine for One User 1 - 2 $ 295
778044-00 IMAQ Vision Deployment License 1 - 2 $ 295
What is the difference between these two packages?
Secondly... if the application is not final and a debug license of Labview (900866-01 - not on website??) is required, what is required to purchase if the application uses vision?
Is the full deployment license required in the case that the software is using the debug license of labview?  The debug license allows for teh installation of Toolkits, however Vision is a module and not a standard toolkit.
777859-03  NI Vision Development Module 1 - 2 $ 2,595
I understand the IMAQ licensing to be the following:
The IMAQ license is required for any image acquisition (is this license included in the above licenses?) however this comes standard with NI framegrabbers.  The IMAQ-1394 license is required in addition if a 1394 camera is used.  This license comes standard with NI 1394 cards as well.
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

I can answer part of your question.  The IMAQ Vision Deployment License is just a piece of paper that gives you a license to run it on one computer.  The Deployment Engine includes the CD with software you need to install the deployment engine on another computer.

I'm not sure why NI did it this way.  My guess is that you buy the Engine the first time you need to install the runtime on another computer, then just buy the license after that since you have the software.

I don't know the answer on the debug license, but I would consider the Vision module to be a toolkit.

The IMAQ license is automatic if you are using an NI framegrabber.  There isn't much reason for having IMAQ otherwise, since it is the driver for the NI framegrabbers.

Hi Michael,
Bruce is correct with his answer to your first question.

Secondly... if the application is not final and a debug license of Labview (900866-01 - not on website??) is required, what is required to purchase if the application uses vision?
Is the full deployment license required in the case that the software is using the debug license of labview?  The debug license allows for teh installation of Toolkits, however Vision is a module and not a standard toolkit.

The Vision development module is a little different.  In the case where you need to debug a vision application you would have to activate the debug version of labview, install the vision development module, debug the application, uninstall the vision development module, and then deactivate the debug version of LabVIEW.  This is because the Vision Development Module is a module and is independent of LabVIEW (i.e. can use it with LabVIEW, C, VB).

I understand the IMAQ licensing to be the following:
The IMAQ license is required for any image acquisition (is this license included in the above licenses?) however this comes standard with NI framegrabbers.

The standard IMAQ driver (for example the driver for the 1409, 1422...) is free and does not require a license.  I can be downloaded for free from: http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/websearch/CD7EAFE90E9E47398625703000754A12?opendocument&node=132070_US

The IMAQ-1394 license is required in addition if a 1394 camera is used.  This license comes standard with NI 1394 cards as well.

This is correct.

Hope this clarifies things.

Best Regards,
Brooks W.
