bayer rg 8-bit - how many bits per pixel am I looking at?

Hi Tim,

 

I can tell from the icon that IMAQdx is accessing the camera via the DirectShow driver that Point Grey provides. Since this is a GigE Vision camera you are using(?) you should be able to see it via IMAQdx's native GigE Vision support. The main thing that would keep it from being discovered in NI software is if the IP configuration is not configured right.

It's a USB camera.  Is there a way to byp[ass DirectShow?

No, the current USB cameras from Point Grey use a propietary interface (this will change soon with the upcoming USB3 Vision standard...) and so DirectShow is the only mechanism IMAQdx can talk to the camera. You might check the Video Mode attribute in IMAQdx (right above pixel format) because I seem to recall that Point Gray implemented some monochome modes... I'm not sure if they still do debayering in their driver though in that case...
