cedip camera with NI 1422

Hi,

We have developed a Matlab code which enables us to display and process infrared images, acquired by a Jade Mid-Wavelength IR III camera through a RS 422 output (and the proprietary Frame Grabber FG9800. We have been working with Cirrus and Altair softwares from the camera manufacturer, and Matlab helps us for a further processing.

We recently got Labview 8.0 and are wondering if we could do the same process only with Labview and the development module Vision without NI hardware. Cedip has developed a SDK to directly adapt his proprietary formats under Labview but we would prefer avoid that solution.

We are now hesitating between developing it by ourselves or investing in an IMAQ 1422 and acquire images with NI IMAQ to be able to process images directly (If the camera is supported  or if the camera file genrator can adapt to it).

What do you think of this?

If you need more info about the camera, just let us know!

Thanks for your answers!

Hi,

Thank you to purchase LabVIEW and post on this forum.

NI-IMAQ has an extensive library of functions—such as routines for video configuration, continuous and single shot image acquisition, memory buffer llocation, trigger control, and device configuration—you can call from the application development environment. You just have to put in LabVIEW and you have image.

Or you can develope by yourself with NI-VISA but it's take more time.

So I advise you to call National Instrument and ask commercial engineer.

Regards,
