Hallo you all

I have a problem  . i want to know or its possible to determine circle's  form  30 cm un til 100 meters  in a tiny view  and wich smart camera i need to solve this issue

Is a machine that bend alu in a round circle  , and some times its off

So i have to adjust  the machine automatiichly   but i have no idea to determin to resolution  the lens and the focus distance

the circle's are from 0.3 meter until 100 meter in diameter

with resolution  can i  get ?  in terms of cintimeters of defelction of the programmed circle  and its detection?

The resolution will depend on how many pixel you have. But if your objects size vary from 30cm to 100m!!! you won't be able to maintain a good resolution.

First, choose how many pixel you think will fit your needs, then select a camera. Then to choose a lens, check this: http://security-systems.pentax.fr/en/ssd_focal_length_calculator.php. But don't forget it will also depends on the sensor size.
