Sir,
My question is just about the algorithm. (Not about OCR) I am doing a final year project involving image classification. I just want to understand the training algorithm.
for example, classification uses k-nearest neighbor algorithm.
training uses what algorithm?
Note: to clarify my question, for example i know how the training procedure is done in neural networks. So how is the training done in NI Classification training software.
Thank you

Sir,
First thank you for your fast reply.
I just want the name of the training algorithm and not any detail. If you can provide it we would appreciate it, and if not thank you anyway.
PS: They gave us the name of the classification algorithm (k-nearest neighbor), we just need the name of the training algorithm.
Regards,
Maurice

Hi Maurice,
Check the NI Vision 2009 Concepts Help under Machine Vision category you will find information about Classification methods.
I hope you'll find the information you are looking for.

Sir,
I'm sorry for insisting on my question. I have read all the manuals. I know how to use all the classification techniques and methods. I also know how to use all their related VI's and the classification software that comes with LabVIEW. Moreover, I have full understanding of the classification algorithms that are used. But I just want to know (at least) if possible the name of the TRAINING algorithm itself and not the classification algorithm.
Thank you
Best Regards
Maurice

Hi Maurice,
Can you tell us why would you need to know the name of the training algorithms? I need to pass this info to our R&D guys.
Thanks

Ok sir,
I'm doing my final year project, in electrical engineering. It deals with image processing on LabVIEW implemented on the CVS 1456.
I just need to know the name of the training algorithm so i would know how to answer if I was asked by my doctors (during my final presentation) about it.
So if I was asked about the classification itself, I have full idea about its algorithm.
On the other hand, if i was asked any question about the training, I wouldn't have any info to answer!
Please, just the name would be enough and i can do my research about it.
Thanks a lot.

Hi Maurice,
I was trying to get the information from our R&D team, but they refused to provide me. Sorry, but I can't do anything more.
On the other hand, you've did everything possible to find the information, so you should feel good about that.
Good luck defending your thesis.
