Hi, rugbier01,
Are you plugging your USB camera into the PC or the cRIO? It should work fine on the PC, but it would probably never work on the cRIO. The cRIO doesn't have the drivers for it and you can't put them on it. Image acquisition on a cRIO is very limited right now. The only supported RIO acquisition is from IP cameras made by Basler and Axis. These cameras make use of the IMAQdx driver. Take a look at this link:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/4331B4AA3AE95233862574C200539A2F?OpenDocument
and look under the Fast Ethernet (IP) section for further clarification.
In addition, with the correct type of camera, the IMAQdx drivers need to be installed on both the host PC and the cRIO to properly configure image acquisition. Take a look here
https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA03q000000x4IqCAI&l=en-US
for clarification on the proper steps to set this up.
You can also purchase a moviMED module who is a NI Alliance Partner to acquire images from cRIO as described here:
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/13045
"You can also use the new AF-1501 frame grabber from National Instruments Alliance Partner moviMED to acquire monochrome images from analog cameras. "
I hope this helps!
Saludos.
Jesús.
