compatibility berween imaq 1394 v1.5.2 and labview 6.0.2

I had used labview 602, imaq vision 6.0 and imaq 1384 1.0 in previous applications on Win 2000 with earlier service packs. Recently a customer wanted to go to Windows 2000 sp4. The IEEE camera would be recognized in max, but could not be accessed. I got help from an NI engineer and had a copy of Imaq 1394 1.5.2 emailed. This fixed the problem, but the program started running real slow, like it was having internal conflicts (it was an executable). Eventually they ran into a lot of problems and we rebuilt the PC with the orginal version of Windows 2000, reinstalled Imaq 1394 1.0 and everything is back to normal.

Now, I am making a new application for a new job and am developing the application on my Win 2000 sp4 PC and had the same problem. Imaq 1394 1.0 would not let me capture an image in Max, but it listed the camera. I loaded v1.5.2 and max works fine. However, I must manually access the imaq1394 vi lib in labview since it does not appear to have labview 602 support. I tried making a smnall vi with an init and snap routine and it worked. I am however worried about incompatibilities, like I appear to have run into with the other IEEE application I worked on.

Any comments about the incompatibility and what I can do, short of upgrading labview right now?

Hello,

Unfortunately, as you mentioned, NI-IMAQ for 1394 1.5.2 does not officially support LabVIEW 6.0. This version of the 1394 driver supports LabVIEW 6.1 and newer. It may be possible to use the 1.5.2 driver within LabVIEW 6.0, but it has not been tested. The only option, as you may suspect, would be to upgrade LabVIEW. I wish I had better news for you.
