find edges

Hi everyone.

First of all thanks for helping me and reading this post.

I have an image in grayscale where I have to measure the distance inside a ROI (this problem is solved).

But the problem is that is dificult to find edges (faint edges) in the original image. So I think that I have to use a filter to see better the edges.

My question is that what filter is the best to do that?

I check IMAQ Equalize to do that but I do not how it works...

Any body can help me?

most important parameter in edge detection project is lighting source that you use for imaging so first work on this part then based on your image and desired edges feature you can select best filter and method to use
