how to create a grayscale avi?

Hmm...that certainly seems that it should read the number of frames per second correctly (although the frames per second must be an integer, so it's probably being written as 7 frames per second).  Are you using a compression filter?  Can you attach your VI to this post?

Hi Kelly,

That's pretty weird.  Breaking out the cluster seems to display the proper number of frames per second on both my machine.and a test machine with Vision 7.1.0.

I'm glad to hear that you have a way around it for now!
