I am acquiring color images using web camera of laptop.

I want to process the acquired images to use for pattern matching.

What are the steps to be followed to achieve the above mentioned task.

There are help, and examples in NI to help you. You can open the examples up, and it is pretty much self explanatory. Try out. Don't forget to define region of interest (green box).
