noise image frame grabber 1407

Hello, delirious, from the pictures that you sent,  aside from your IMAQ's Sync problems that you've described, your card seems to use a very narrow palette of colors.

I seem to have a very similar system to yours (camera and IMAQ card) , and a similar image output, slightly different. I think that we have an issue with a poor dynamic range with our cards. Could you please attach your camera file that you use ?

We may be able to help each other. If you have been able to improve your image quality would you be kind to explain what you have done ?

Does anyone know how it is possible to correct the problem of having an IMAQ's poor use of color palette ? It is well seen on deliriouse's picture attachment.

Your help is highly appriciated !

Well, I was thinking the problem I have was because of synchronization. but I tried almost everthing to correct this. the results are not satisfying at all. I have tried to modify an existing camera file but the camera I have is supposed to work with generic RS-170 file. I really didnt spend a whole alot on modifying the camera file but it might be worth changing it.

I am kind of in the middle of another project so camera project is postponed for a while. the last thing I was trying to do is to grab images using LabView and changing the bit depth to 12 or 16. this didnt help either. My cheap TV card, I think, has a better resolution than the IMAQ PCI-1407 card I have. perhaps the A/D converter inside has a better resolution or is actually better. So until I find something else to try on PCI-1407, I will continue to use my TV card.

if I can be of any help to you, just let me know.

thanks

Mehmet

Thanx for the quick reply, delirious

I'm trying to tweak my camera file too, and it seems to change something, but I'm not there yet.

If you could attach me your camera file for your best image configuration, that would help me see options which I tried and are perhaps set wrong and help you out, or could give me another set of configurations and help me maybe.

P.S

Please attach your camera specs also, if you have it near you.

With best regards,

                       Michael.
