straight edge after nonlinear calibration

Hi,

Is it true that the find straight edge function does not look to the corrected image (after calibration)?

The problem is that Ive got an image with a lot of distortion and it is nearly impossible to find the straight edge when the edge is bend in the image before calibration.

Note:
Im using the nonlinear calibration and the edge looks straight in the corrected image.

Kind regards,

Once an image has been calibrated using non-linear calibration, the output image has no "memory" of the non-corrected image. That is to say that the output image is just another image, there are not two copies of the image being stored, one corrected and one non-corrected. The same image that is shown when you display a corrected image is the same image that you perform analysis on.

You have two possible situations here:

1. The image was calibrated but not corrected. The lines still appear curved in the image. In this case, the straight line function will not work because the line is not straight in the image.

2. The image was corrected. In this case, the line appears straight and the straight line function will work correctly.
