Can't record peaks from Peak Search in Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite

I recently downloaded the eval version of Sound and Vibration Measurement Suite and the Sound and Vibration Assistant.  One of the steps that I added is Analysis > Frequency Domain Measurements > Peak Search.  This step works fine, and I see the peaks that it detects in my data view, but I cannot record these peaks.  In Recording Options > Signal Selection, they simply don't even show up, so there's no way to put a check-mark next to them.  Is this possibly due to the fact that I have an evaluation version?  I sure hope not.  Help?

Hello,

I downloaded the evaluation version and I was given the option to record the number of peaks as well as the signal.  I do not know what you application is or how your project is built but this feature should be available.

Yes, I can record the number of peaks just fine, but I want to record the frequency and magnitude of each peak.  The frequency and magnitude of each of the detected peaks shows up in my Data View, but apparently are not available for recording.  Why not??

Thanks,

Hi Tom,

The data from the frequency and magnitude aspects of the peak search is in a complex format.  You can log this data by saving to an ASCII/LVM file.  This function is found under Load/Save Signals»Analog Signals»Save to ASCII/LVM.  It will log the frequency and magnitude returned by the peak search into a .txt file.

Thanks.  I tried this, and was able to save the peak frequency and magnitude, but it also gave me a ton of intermediate values before it finally gave me the value that is reported in the Data View.  Why does it give me more than just the final value reported in Data View?  Is there a way to just save this final value?

Thanks,

Hello Tim,

If you set it to overwrite the file it should log only the final values.
