I am trying to establish Serial port communication with an Inficon XTM/2 Deposition Monitor using "Measure for Windows" Version 2.0.
I understand from talking with the Inficon engineers that the "device specific command (dsc)" needs to be followed by a decimal character or hex character 6. In the test instrument page of Measure I try entering the dsc "H" followed by /6 or /006 but I get no response from the instrument. The "H" command simply requests the software version of the instrument.
I'm actually entering "H/6" without the quotes. How do I enter the 6 character which is required by the instrument to accept the command.
The serial port on the pc works with other applications. I have tried both a stright through 9 pin cable as well as a 2/3 pin reversed cable with no success.
