Signal speeds

Hi guys ,

I have a daq 6008 ,measuring rotational speed with a hall effect proximity . I have tried connecting it the three way I can with the 6008 . ie. Digital I/o counter and analogue voltage input. The input is used to fire a timer to perform calculations.

the counter dost work atall really, I know its only an event counter but the counts are never the same as the rotations. When useing the digital input and the speed increases it input misses pluses .

The analoge input , the proximity is switching 12v to the analogue input , I have the vi set up to read after 2v due to noise at around 1v, the problem is when the rotations increase the switched voltage drops , and alto above 2v the daq dosnt see it , is the daq not quick eggnog's or am i missing some code that i could use .

thanks for any advice

Dear Vadajooz

There is a very similar forum post and a solution to what you are trying to achieve at the below URL:

Let me know how you get on with the VI they posted and if their advice helps.

You should contact your local National Instruments office if you bought the device from us whereupon we can repair the module if deemed faulty. Thanks.

Unfortunetly I cannot quote estimated delivery times. The engineer dealing with your servcie request will be able to advise on this. I look forward to hearing how you get on with the advice from the other forum.
