how to communicate with an instrument thru LAN

I have MAX and I can' t view my instrument I connected through LAN. How do i communicate with my instrument thru LAN (eg sending commands)?

Did you right click on Devices and Interfaces and select Create New>VISA TCP/IP Resource. What you do after that will depend on whether it's on your local subnet and whether it's a VXI-11 instrument.

p.s. You posted on the Measurement board and that is for the NI program called Measure which is an add-on for Excel. You should post further questions to the Instrument Control board.
