CWUI.OCX and VB.NET

Hi,

I'd like to use a old version of CWUI.OCX (V6) in VB.NET. Is this possible? Do I need to create the control dynamically to use the license string? Any sample code would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Liam

Hi Liam, sorry for the late response.

CWUI.OCX contains the Legacy Measurement Studio controls. These are no longer supported in Measurement Studio 2010 and later. Instead, they are replaced with native .NET controls found in NationalInstruments.UI.WindowsForms, NationalInstruments.WebForms, and NationalInstruments.Controls (for WPF) assemblies. If you are developing a new application in VB.NET, then I would recommend using the .NET controls. However, if you are maintaining an existing application that utilizes the CWUI.ocx controls, then you will need to request our legacy version of Measurement Studio to obtain a licensed version of these controls. Refer to our legacy support page for more details.

Note: Measurement Studio 2010 and later install the cwui.ocx controls, but they are not licensed for development. They are installed because they are a dependency of some unrelated NI Software components.
