Hey all,
i'm still writing an application for my company using Ethernet-RIOs (NI-9148).
Due to the fact that the software i'm writing is going to be used on a few PCs and i'm a programmer, i'd like to know if there is a way to automatically configure the NI9148 from inside my application.
I did find out, that i can set variable-names etc. by POSTing the "variables.xml","scanConfig.xml","criocfg.bin" and "masterRegistry.xml", but i'd rather use a correct (official way) to do this if there is any.
Thanks already

Hello streppel,
what exactly do you mean by "configure"? Do you mean a measurement task or adding it to the project (because you use the scanconfig, criocfg etc.)?
And, to understand the situation, you want to distribute your program to other users, who also have an ethernet-cRIO 9148.
They should be able to start your software and use it without any more preparations.
Best regards,

Hello Chris,
with configure i mean setting variable-names and operatingtTypes (like RSE,NRSE,DIFF).
Without configuring the Ethernet-RIO before running the Program, it simply crashes (can't find the network address), so i either have to set it up according to my dev hardware via HTTP-POSTing the files to the RIO (it has the file up/download, so i'm basically doing that) OR find another way to do this
Thanks for your help
PS: the program will only run on a few PCs (like 5), but doing the setup is annoying, so i thought about this automatic configuration.

Hello streppel,
this is a little complicated for the forum.
Is it possible for you to contact the official NI Support, so we can discuss the topic with you?

i guess i could contact the support, but doubt that it will be easier on the phone.
Which number would i have to call? (i'm in germany)

Good morning,
you can call us in Munich or send a request per mail, see this page
Or see this page
Of course, you need an active support contract. But because you use a couple of ethernet RIOs and our software, I assume you have one.
Then one of our Application Engineers can support you.
Best regards,
