I'm running Measurement Studio 2010 SP 1 on an XP machine and since installing it, MS Visual Studio 2010 runs extremely slow. Using the license manager, I made sure all NI licenses have been activated but it still runs very slow. Checked the environment variables and there don't seem to be any issues with those either. Please help!

Hi Belcan_Support,
I'm guessing you already saw this: http://forums.ni.com/t5/Measurement-Studio-for-VC/Why-does-Installation-of-Measurement-Studio-slow-d... . Did you check your anti-virus software?

Yes, we tried disabling our antivirus, but the issue still persists. As soon as we uninstall Measurement Studio, Visual Studio returns to normal. When we reinstall Measurement Studio, the slowness returns. Is SP1 the highest service pack for Measurement Studio 2010?

Yes 2010 SP1 is the latest service pack for 2010.
Several other things to check: Are you currently, or have in the past, been under a volume license system where you would connect to a server to acquire software licenses? Are there any issues with other NI Software (ie. Measurement & Automation Explorer)? Does the Task Manager indicate any process(es) with high CPU usage when Visual Studio begins to respond slowly?

Our licenses have always been local (no connection to a server necessary). All other NI software is working fine (LabWindows 2010 CVI, Test Stand, etc). I looked closely at the task manager while running Visual Studio, and sometimes sqlservr.exe spikes up to almost 30%, and devenv.exe spiked up a
couple times to almost 20ish%. It doesn’t seem to be anything too high, and they are spikes and don’t last hardly any time at all

Okay. Does the Measurement &Automation Explorer open up fine (including all the dropdown tabs on the left pane)? In the NI License Manager, are any of the checkboxes checked in Options>Preferences? Also in the License Manager, does this symbol appear anywhere?
