Temporarily uninstalling ImaqDx

I have an end user application that uses Vision related aspects, including ImaqDx for image acquisition.  We want out software to still run even if the user has not installed Vision Runtime on their PC.  If Vision is missing from their machine, we want to offer the user a reduced set of features.

So, I would like a way to temporarily emulate this on my machine.  I'd really rather not have to uninstal VDM.  I did a search on my machine for *ImaqDx.dll, and tried renaming this dll and rebooting, but for reasons I am not sure of, I was still able to do image acquisition (i.e. the full set of features was still available).

If anyone would have a suggestion (short of uninstalling VDM) that I could use to emulate a machine without Vision Runtime installed, it would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Rick

Hi Rick,

I don't know of way to do this with out uninstalling the VDM. The only real I can give you is to look into the installer options so you can create an automated script to install and uninstall the module/runtime at will.

You could also look at using VMware to create a virtual machine to do your testing.
