VisaNS References Old Assembly

Solved!

Hi fschricker,

I have determined that NationalInstruments.Common should be backward compatible and a newer version should work also. Do you know what version you currently have?

Hello,

I am actually quoting on the first reply to this thread: "National Instruments relies on publisher policy files to redirect requests for NationalInstruments.Common to the latest version on the machine. The problem here is that Sandcastle does not respect these policy files, as indicated here. I would suggest copying the older assembly to your build machine if you're able to locate this on your development machine. If not, let me know and we can get one for you to download."

I am a) stuck with a Sandcastle installation hit by this problem and b) I cannot find the correct version on my disk.

If possible I would like to have that specific file available as a download just like previous users on this thread for their specific versions. This would provide me with a help file on the API I am building on top of your API.

Thank you very much for any effort on your side, it is greatly appreciated!

Florian

Hi fschricker,

I am looking into what I need to install to get those files to populate on my machine. I have a newer version on my machine but still working on getting the older version for you. At that point I will determine the best way to post those files here.

Hi Florian,

I have posted the files on our FTP site: ftp://ftp.ni.com/outgoing  Paste that into a windows explorer window and look for the zip file named NI Common.zip. I would not recommend overwriting any existing files as other programs may depend on them. The files will remain there for 48 hours and after 48 hours they will be removed.
