64 bit

Hi everyone,

I just bought a new computer that came with windows 64 bits and now I can't install the drivers for measurement studio that I had bought for my old computer (with windows 32 bits).

Is here any way to go around this problem? Or do I need to buy the same software again for windows 64 bits? I need this software to work as quickly as possible so that I can move on with my research!

Hello Italojames 🙂

Thank you for posting your question in this forum!

I have read the manual of Measurement Studio in order to find if there is a compatibility issue with your operating system. Inside you will find installation requirements and some recommendations that might help you in installing without any problem the Measurement Studio software.

http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/373392d.pdf

There is no other specific version for Windows x64 operating system, it is just that it is not supported 100% for all the drivers.

I paste you a paragraph that has to do with compatibility between Measurement studio and 64-bit operating system. (page 1-3)

" Currently, 64-bit support for NI device drivers is available only in the .NET class libraries for the following drivers: NI-DAQmx 8.9.5 and later, NI-VISA 4.5.1 and later, NI-488.2 2.7.1 and later, and MAX 4.6 and later. 64-bit class libaries are included only with support for Visual Studio 2008. "

It mainly means that if you use a different driver from those abobe , probably there will be an error occured.

Is it what happens with you? Do you have a specific error that you would like to share in order for me to understand more specifically what happens?

Don't hesitate to tell me ok?

Best regards,

Thank you for your reply!

The error message simply says that the drivers are not supported by windows 64 bits, so I guess it is simply a compatibility problem due to the age of my measurement studio version.

I will probably have to upgrade to a newer version of measurement studio (it was bound to happen sooner or later!).

Thanks anyways
