CWAI can't detect NI-WLS 9215

Hi All,

I couldn't see any device when I tried to program CWAI using VB6, although I have already configure the virtual device using MAX. I have also installed both Traditional DAQ 7.4.4 and NI-DAQmx v9.0, but in the CWAI property, it is still unavailable.

May I know what the cause of this problem is?

Thanks a lot for your help. I have been struggling with this problem for 3 days, yet no definite answer from NI website.

Best Regards

Hello kid_26,

There is an internal note that I've found that mentioned about possible incompatibility between Visual Studio 6.0 service pack 3 and Windows XP SP1. The workaround for that was to uninstall Visual Studio, and then reinstall it without the service pack. After that, the DAQ card would show up in the CWAI device list.

Do you recall if the WLS-9215 was showing up in CWAI beforehand? Was any service pack installed after that?

Best regards,

Victor

Hi Victor,

Thanks for the reply.

I am currently using Windows XP SP2 and Visual Studio 6.0 without any service pack installed. The WLS-9215 never showed up in the CWAI device list, even during my first installation of Visual Studio 6.0.

Is there any workaround for this?

Hello kid_26,

Thanks for the info. Do you have another station with Visual Studio installed, together with the NI-DAQmx driver? If so, can you try it on that station to see if the same behavior occurs over there?

Best regards,

Victor
