How do I stop NI DataSocket 4.3.0 Installer from running when I launch or use VB6?

Since the installer fails to work, I have to Cancel out TWICE just to get VB6 started. Then doing certain things in VB6 will trigger the installer AGAIN.

How has it insinuated itself into my VB6 and how can I get rid of it once and for all?

When did this behavior start? Did you ever have NI DataSocket 4.3.0 installed on this machine? If so, did this occur after you removed it?

If I were to venture a premature guess, i'd say that there were some registry entries that weren't removed correctly on an uninstall. Have you attempted reinstalling/repairing your VB6 install to see if that gets rid of the problem?
