Hey Jason,
I am sorry you are running into this issue. However, instead of troubleshooting this on the forum, can you please give us a call and create a service request. You can do this by going to ni.com/support. This would allow National Instruments to thoroughly troubleshoot this issue.
Thanks

Jason,
Are you using a USB keyboard? I have seen some systems that the USB ports don't work until the OS is loaded. Try finding an older keyboard (non-USB that plugs into the round keyboard port) and then you should be able to select safe mode. You may then be able to get a better understanding of what's causing your system to crash.

Tom - that is a good suggestion. However, the KBD worked before OS boot. I verified this by entering the BIOS editing utility prior to OS boot. Anyway, I have since sent the PC to our IT dept. and they could not get it to boot either. They ended up re-installing the OS. Perhaps, it is not fair to blame the NIDaqMX un-install for this episode - but it was the proximal cause and the whole sequence was very frurstrating. If the MAX install had worked properly to begin with, then I would not have had to do the un-install, etc. etc.
