installing measurement studio eval

i hav downloaded the mstudiodemo.exe the whole 400+ MB and now it doesnt install saying i need to have labview 6.0.2. i also have installed labview 6i and the upgrade utility included and the one downloaded from the site. i dont understand as to why labview is required at all for installing measurement studio, isnt it supposed to be used with VB and VC++. is there any solution to it. thanx in advance.

Is it giving you this error right away when you try to install, or is it after you are allowed to select options? We have seen some reported issue of Measurement Studio not installing well to machines that have installed LabVIEW 6.0 without the 6.0.2 update, or on machines that only have the evaluation version of LabVIEW on them.

There is a problem in the LabVIEW 6.0 install that causes a bad interaction with some other installers and uninstallers from National Instruments, including Measurement Studio. The LabVIEW 6.0.2 patch is a very small fix that basically only repairs this issue. I believe mstudiodemo.exe puts a copy of the 6.0.2 upgrade utility in a subdirectory when you extract it.

well it gives the error in the begining itself. the problem was, as u have already mentioned, that i had evaluation version of labview. installaton ran after i uninstalled it. i feel that this known issue shud atleast be documented if not fixed. it was pretty frustrating until i figured it out.
