license problem with cwui.ocx

Ok, let me first say that I have read everything on the support site regarding the "evaluation copy" problem with cwui.ocx, and none of the tips have helped me.

I have an old app using the CW UI 2.0 controls. I have been able to use them without any problem, but then I bought a NI 6220 card and installed Measurement & Automation and NI-DAQmx. After this, I got the CW UI 7.0 controls. Now, whenever I try to compile my app, I get the "evaluation version" message. Fine, I go to the Component listing in VB and instead point to my old cwui.ocx 2.0 file. Now it instead says that "you need a newer version of the controls".

I have tried using regsrv32 to unregister and regsiter both the old and new CW UI, but no luck. Also, the License Fixer only finds "3D charts" on my computer, so it does not help either. What should I do? I have spent many unproductive hours with this problem and gotten nowhere. The only option I see is replacing all controls in my app with non-NI ones, but this will take days. Thanks in advance!

I've just run into a problem nearly identical to this, so I would also be very interested in what the solution might be.

Thanks,

Hi to both of you.

This might happend because an evaluation mode of MS was installed before and then with the complete one overwrited. In order to avoid this you MUST uninstall the evaluation one before you install the complete one!

Here is couple of KBs that might be helpful
