loading a control causes vb6 to try to configure Measurement Studio

I'm supporting a legacy application in VB6.  On the development machine, when I open the project in vb6, it tries to configure measurement studio, which has already been installed.  I can click cancel and the project loads.  However, when the application is run, _every_time_ a measurement studio control is loaded on a form, it tries to configure measurement studio.  After clicking through tons of cancels, the application runs fine.  However, every time you start the app, you have to do this.

Any thoughts on how to eliminate this very annoying behaviour?

Can you post an example of what type of configuration it is trying to run for each one of these controls?  A screen shot or two would be great. Thanks!

What happens if you let it run through a full configuration?  Both when you load a project and run a program. Have you restarted the computer since the configuration completed?

Is there a solution here that I missed?

I have a similar issue. After I run my app the first time after acomputer restart and close it out and then restart it, I get the same message. After hitting CANCEL a lot, the  app will eventual start and run. But I have to go through  this every time to restart the app. If I restart the computer and then start the app, I have no problems until after I close out the app and restart it a a later time.

From what I can find on another forum, it appears this type of Windows Configuration is happening because something was corrupt on the initial installation somehow.

I would try to uninstall Measurement Studio 6.0 and re-install it.  If you have the installer on a disk, try copying it to the hard drive first before installing.  This would prevent any disk-read errors while the installation is in progress.

If that does not resolve the issue please post back.
