I need to use PCI-DIO 96 with Visual C++. Please let me know what to download

I received only the driver CD for the PCI-DIO 96. I am not sure, if something else is needed to make this card work in Visual C++

This is the only CD you need in order to program the PCI-DIO 96. When you install this CD you should have picked the support you wanting installed. It would have been a tree structure with options like: LabVIEW 6.1 Support, CVI, Visual Basic, Visual C, etc...

I would suggest installing the support for all of the text based languages (Visual C, VB, and CVI). The reason for this is you will get the recommended examples for each language and the help files for each language, which can really help if you want to try using the CWDAQ ActiveX controls in VC++. All of the examples for VC++ will be making direct calls to the driver. The examples are located at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI-DAQ\Examples\VisualC. In order to make these examples work you
will need to create a new project. Add the source file and the library files (../NI-DAQ/Lib/*.*) to your project. Then add the include path and lib path to your VC++ project directories. After that you should be ready to compile the examples and start making modifications.

Just as a note National Instruments also makes a product called Measurement Studio. This is a add on package to VC++ that gives you controls like graphs, slide controls, knobs, LEDs, and several signal conditioning classes.

I hope this helps,

Hi,

The CDs that the previous posts were talking about is the NI-DAQ driver CDs. All of these drivers can be downloaded from the website. NI-DAQ 7.3 is the only driver that you need to program this board in Visual C++. There is a newer driver version 7.4, but your board will still work fine with 7.3. There is NO reason why you should be using MH DDK to program this board, unless you are trying to do Register Level Programming. If you are trying to do RLP then NI does not support this.

However, if all you are trying to do is output using the PCI-DIO-96 with Visual C++, then you can use the examples described by JoshuaP in the previous post.

I hope this clears up the confusion. Have a Great Day!
