Hello Egon

Are you using any Activex controls in the CVI application? Are you able to launch the CVI development enviornment fully licensed? Or is this happening only with an exe? If you open up the license manager ( Start >> Programs >> National Instruments >> NI License Manager ), check the status of the CVI license and see if it is enabled. If this is the case, try to re-enable it .

Hope this helps

Hy Bilal,
thanks a lot for your immediate response.

To your questions:
1- Are you using any Activex controls in the CVI application?
I can't answer this question now, it is an external application, I'll try to find it out. But some days ago a DLL-file for this application was changed/overwritten by a new version of this DLL-file. Could that be the reason?

2- Are you able to launch the CVI development enviornment fully licensed?
Yes, I can, there are no problems with compiling, linking, etc.

3- Or is this happening only with an exe?
Yes it happens only with a specific application (that with the changed DLL-file), not with other CVI - applications.

4- If you open up the license manager ( Start >> Programs >> National Instruments >> NI Lice
nse Manager ), check the status of the CVI license and see if it is enabled.
Yes, both licenses (for CVI and MeasurementStudio) are enabled, without an expiration date.

5- If this is the case, try to re-enable it.
Yes, I re-enabled the license with the existing activation code, but the problem with this specific application remains.

Best regards

Hi Egon

I've seen this message occur when applications are build using CVI in evaluation mode. Since this is already a pre-built application, I doubt this message is occuring because of the version of CVI on your machine. Are you able to revert to the older dll to see if this problem still occurs?

Some of the limitations of a image built using CVI are:
 30-day expiration
 10-minute run-time timeout

Do you see the message after running the application for more then 10 minutes?

If a dll or exe is built without activating CVI, it can certain limitations placed on it. The only way to get around this is to fully rebuild the exe/dll using an activated version of CVI.

I hope this helps
