Where is Visa32.dll and the .lib file?

I have older sw written with VC5++. I am now using VC6 and would like to recompile all of the code and reuse it.

Previously it used Visa.dll and the lib file to compile the code. I have tried the latest and the former, 3.4.1, ni-visa installs and do not see these files as others have posted.

Has the name changed? is there not a library that is available to be loaded?

I just want the visa32.dll and lib file to recompile my code and use it. If the name has changed, please tell me which ni visa package to dnload and the new names if changed.

Is this all on the same computer? When you installed the NI –VISA driver did you check to include text-based support? Did you try a search for these two files on your computer?

I beleive I did. I started with the latest version and think I need to work my way backward in the VISA releases.

Can you tell me what driver version to download so that I can use my older projects that just required visa.dll or visa32.dll. I will recompile all of my instruments and all should be well.

I have searched the entire drive, no ah ah. No visa or visa32 libs. Have the names of the files changed but the interface is the same?

How can I use projects that used the previous visa or visa32 lib and dll without making major changes.

If the interface has changed, what has changed?

I’d double check that to be sure, you can modify your installation in add/remove program to be sure. Have you tried searching for these files? They appear in my system in Windows/system32 and C:\Program Files\IVI Foundation\VISA\WinNT\lib and either bc or msc for your two different lib files.

My bad. I swear i did a search of the entire drive. I see it in IVI foundations. I have just installed 3.4.1. I will install the 4.6.x now to use the latest VISA drivers.

I am not crazy I just did the search and it did not find it yet i see it in the directory you have listed. hmm. other problems. Now I will attempt to use it and revive the old code of before. thanks...
