how to add plot legends to a graph?

Hi,

I'm using Measurement Studio 6.0 for C++ and would like to add a plot legend to a CNiGraph object which contains multiple plots. The legend would consist of text (i.e. the Y axis label) and the line type as a bitmap image. Preferably, I would like the legend to be placed outside the plot area. Is there a property in the graph control which I can set to enable this functionality, or can I use plot annotations?

Thank you.

Unfortunately there is not support for legends in CNiGraph. Probably the easiest workaround for this would be to add Picture (Picture in the dialog editor controls palette) static controls to your dialog for the bitmaps and add static controls next to them for the labels. I think that would simulate what you want.

Why is legends not supported in CNiGraph, after all it is a very important feature for a graph object that allows plotting multiple traces. Furthermore, isn't it available in LabView?
Will it be added in future versions?
