-70001 (NIMC_readyToReceiveTimeoutError) with 7344 board

After I get this error I need to restart the computer or to run MAX and reset the device. When I reset the device my position references are lost. Is there a way to come out of this situation without losing the reference positions? Is there a function to reset the board from my software without using MAX?
The error occures randomly after some time. What can cause this error?
