Can I use gear to follow RTSI signal?

As I know, gearing mode can work at higher frequence than normal flex motion function. I am wonder if gearting mode can be used to follow signal comming from RTSI bus.
I am using 7344 ,and I know gear can use to follow ADC channel. But the ADC channel on 7344 is 12Bit. Can i use gear to follow ADC channel on other DAQ device? How can I improve this? I need a 16Bit ADC.
thanks.

True you can get a faster response with gearing however this is because you do not have to wait for the Windows system to send commands to the onboard processor, but instead the onboard processor does all of the work. The onboard processor is only able to gear off of another axis, encoder, or ADC. There is not a way to gear it to the ADC of a DAQ card.
