Hi all,
Im using a couple of 7358 motion controller boards and they have been running well for many years now. But recentley we got the following error:
"Error 6186 occured at !!Error 186 axis 1 : malfunction of drivers cpu"
The PC then shutdown. Upon a PC restart all appears to be fine. My question has anyone seen this error before? I can't seem to find any information regrading this error. I would like to order spares if some hardware is failing.
Any help / ideas would be very much appreciated.
TIA

Hello Martin,
the error message that you see doesn't come from the NI-Motion driver so it's probably not related to the 7358. The NI-Motion error number scheme is "70xxx". The error, that you see is not a known error number from any NI product, that I know, so this seems to be a custom error generated by the application (LabVIEW VI?).
Without any background information it's a bit hard to tell where this error comes from exactly, but to me it sounds like there is some additional communication running with the external motor drive (e. g. via RS232 or Ethernet) and the error is reported by the drive.
I hope this helps a bit,
Jochen
