I install NI measurement & Automation explorer to test a NI 7334 motion controller. When I initialize the card, it prompts ‘Please update the firmware using the Firmware View! Initialization may fail as firmware on the controller is out of date. Do you wish to continue?’
I check the general information, they are:
I then download NI-Motion Version 6.1.5 at https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-motion.html#326229. When I try to install it, it says ‘Installation cannot complete. This update can only be installed over NI-motion 6.1’. Could anybody tell me how to update the Firmware. Or whether I download the wrong file?
Thanks in advance.

Whenever MAX states that the firmware on your board is out of date that means that it has found newer firmware files on your harddrive than on your board. You simply need to go to Devices and Interfaces -> NI Motion Devices -> PCI-7334 (x). Click on the Firmware tab in the lower part of the window, right click on the PCI-7334 entry in the treeview and choose "Update All Firmware Sectors" (see attached screenshot).
If you haven't done, yet you should upgrade to NI-Motion 7.0 before doing the firmware upgrade.
