How do you implement RTSI with 7330 Motion controler and NI5112 Scope?

I am using NI 7330 Motion Controler and the NI 5112 PCI Scope Card.  I have connected them via an RTSI cable.  I am unable to get the Motion breakpoint to trigger my scope.  I set the modulus to 2000  (10 degrees of rotation), selected the source to be Breakpoint 1 and the destination to be RTSI 0.  I set the NI 5112 to digitaly trigger on the RTSI 0 signal.  As I rotate I would acpect to see the NI 5112 trigger.  This is not the case.  I monitor the  Axis status via Read Per Axis Status, there does not appear to a breakpoint triggered.  Is there any example code that shows how to trigger the NI 5112 via a single axis modulus breakpoint?

Hi rwelch,

How are you doing modulo breakpoint on the 7330? The modulo breakpoint is only supported on the 7340 controller card.  Thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me. The help for the Load Breakpoint Modulus indicates the 7330 is compatible.  (if you select the Device Compatibility link) Is there any definitive document that discusses programming the 7330?  I was unable to find such a document.

Thanks again,

rwelch

Hi rwelch,

Apologies for my mistake.  According to one of the training manuals that I had here, the modulo breakpoint feature was only in the 7340 series, but I have found other information here that indicates otherwise.  Now let's solve your issue.

It sounds from your original problem statement that your issue begins with not seeing the breakpoint trigger on the motion card.  Have you worked with your motion card in MAX?  In 1-D Interactive Mode, you can set most of the same settings that you have in LabVIEW, and you can monitor the breakpoint trigger in the Advanced tab.  You might want to confirm that you are not getting a breakpoint trigger here.  If you are, then your LabVIEW code is the issue.  If not, we may have deeper problems.
