Is is possible to run a stepper motor and contoller using only Labview, and a parallel port.

I am learning how to control stepper motors using labview. I have a stepper motor connected to a controller that I have run with a signal generator. Now I want to use a VI and my parallel port to control the motor. Is this possible, and if so does anyone have any suggestions? I have been reading books from my library, but all of the material I have read deals with collecting data and not motor control.

I don't think the parallel port is capable of providing sufficient power to move the motor. You may need to amplify it. I'd go with a stepper motion controller card. The API is so much easier to program motion applications.
