Low Cost Motion Control

I am trying to develop a low cost solution to control a motor using labview. My labview program outputs the necessary angle that the motor must turn.

The hardware that NI provides for motion control is far too expensive for my budget. Are there any 3rd party hardware and software options that can do what I need? Thank you.

Prodromo,

without further information about your application it's a bit hard to make any suggestions. If you just need to turn a motor by a defined angle within a limited range and if you don't need industrial components, you could start with a cheap servo motor as they are used in RC cars or RC planes (e. g. this one). In addition with a cheap control board that is connected to the PC via RS232 this is the cheapest option I can think of. Otherwise there are tons of cheap stepper control boards available in the market, which are ok for simple applications that don't need to meet industrial standards and requirements.

Kind regards,

Jochen
