MAX installs with LabVIEW and with many of NI's drivers. FlexMotion is one driver that comes with a version of MAX, but the newest version (MAX 2.2) comes with the latest driver for DAQ: NI-DAQ 6.9.2. However, none of these versions should have to be killed in the Task Manager.
Since MAX installs from so many different pieces of software, my advise is to unistall and reinsall FlexMotion 5.1.1 first. If that doesn't fix the issues, then you may have to start from scratch with all of your NI software. Not an easy solution, but it's the only real way to fix a corrupted MAX.
