Hi,
I'm using a PCI 7330 with Labview 8.6 and Motion 7.7. Once I installed Labview and the drivers I plugged in the PCI 7330, the "found new hardware" started and finished correctly. Between these following steps several computer restart occurred as it is typical when installing this software and hardware.
At the end of this procedure when I opened MAX, it recognized just 2 of the four 4 of the board.
I think that this can be a problem of drivers. I searched in the Ni site for a page of my board, but I didn't find it, and in the various documentation pages I didn't find anything that could help me in finding the right correspondence hardware/drivers.
Actually I'm not sure that I'm using a proper version of the drivers.
So: which is the latest version of Ni Motion that supports the PCI 7330?
otherwise, what can I do to etect e other axes?

are you sure, that your PCI-7330 provides 4 axes? As you can see here, there are 2-axes (PCI-7332) and 4-axes (PCI-7334) versions available in the NI 7330 board family, so if you see only two axes, I would expect this board to be a PCI-7332. Please let me know, if this assumption is not valid.
The current version of NI-Motion is 8.1. You can find the current version on the Motion Control Support page.

I checked on my board: I just read PCI7330 nor 7332 nor 7334... I also checked again in the manual that is for 7330 and there is explicitly written that this is a 4 axis board. My feeling is that this is an old board, in fact it doesn't appear in the catalog of NI at the moment. So maybe the driver version I'm using is not correct and I need a previous one. I already had this kind of problems when I worked with a a very old PCI 1200 and an old frame grabber, so I had to combine suitable version of labview and NIDAQ and Vision for the boards to work. I think that this case can b e similar....

Hi Paolo,
the NI 7330 is the current hardware revision and definitely not an old board. 7330 is just the name of the board family, while 7332 and 7334 are the members of this family. Typically you can identify the exact board type by the number of axes displayed in MAX ( 2 axes = 7332, 4 axes = 7334).
Quote from the manual:
"The 7330 provides fully programmable motion control for up to four
independent or coordinated axes of motion"
I'm sorry, if this was a bit misleading for you, but as you can see on the product pages (linked to my last post), there are two different part numbers for the 2-axes and the 4-axes version and you have obviously a 2-axes version.
I'm not aware of any driver issue that could make a 4-axes board appear as a 2-axes board in MAX.

Just one last question, maybe this is obvious: both windows and Max are detecting the board as 7330... Is there any way to check whether this is the 7332 or 7334 ( label on the hardware, or similar? Thanks again.

there is a little sticker with a bar code and a number on the PCB. This is the serial number of the board. Please post this number so I can look up your device in our database to clarify the exact type.

thank you for posting the number. Here is the result of my serial number inquiry:
As you can see, your board is a 2 axis version, so everything is correct. I'm sorry for the confusion that our naming conventions have caused in this case.

thank you for the precise answer. What also induced the doubt is that in the refernce manual there is written that the 7330 board has 4 axes.

Isn't there a visual difference between both models --> some unmounted components on the PCI-7332's board ?
Unfortunately I don't have a PCI-7332 right now to check this.
